Miracle of Mind by Sadhguru – First look
Miracle of Mind by Sadhguru is an app for meditation. The app launches today (Mahashivratri day, 26th February 2025). I had the privilege of an early access to the app and this post is about my thoughts on the app and the initiative.

We know that in this era of Attention Economy, getting and keeping your attention has been perfected to a science. You can see this by opening any of the popular apps which support infinite scroll. Let’s say, you had opened the app to do something specific. As specific as just to take a look at your connection’s latest update, for which you just got a notification on your phone. And then you scroll. And further scroll. You are hooked.
A few years ago I had posted about Nir Eyal’s book, Hooked. It still is one of the best explanations on the science of getting and keeping your attention. In the last part of the book, Eyal talks about four types of creators – Facilitators, Peddlers, Entertainers, and Dealers. The Facilitators are the creators who use their product and believe it will improve people’s lives.
When I read the book, and after I was done being fascinated by the control that these apps exert on our lives, I thought about using this power to do good for the world. Several ideas, but I won’t bore you with the details.
Miracle of Mind by Sadhguru is an app that uses those ideas and is built for good. Below are some of the ways in which the app is built for stickiness and success.
- Low Barrier of entry – Meditation is something that almost everyone is aware of. However, learning how to do meditation properly is a barrier to entry. Before you can even get started on meditation, you need to commit time to learn how to do it. This app removes that barrier of entry in two ways.
- The meditation is guided. You do not need to learn anything beforehand.
- The duration of meditation is 7 minutes. Imagine doing something positive for yourself in only 7 minutes.
- Ease of Use – After your quick registration and your first session, the next time you open the app, the interface is a prompt to start the meditation. No distraction, your default time is pre-selected. You tap on the button to start your session. And its simply 7 minutes of following instructions.
- Gamification – The app has several gamification features.
- Streak tracking – 7 minutes a day for an activity that you can do anywhere and at anytime, and you can start building a serious streak in no time.
- Badges – There are several badges to be won at various levels of completion.
- Coins – For each session you get certain number of reward coins, which I believe can be used at several international brand stores for discounts. Details for these are still awaited.
There are several other meditation and mindfulness apps, such as Headspace, Calm. They are also doing good work. A key difference between them and Miracle of Mind is – this app is not looking for revenue. The app doesn’t have any subscription fee and will remain ad free. Sadhguru’s goal is to touch 3 billion people with this app. If this app meets that success criteria, I don’t know how it will be supported without a revenue model.
In my humble opinion, this app is a force for good. Think back to the last time you were conscious of your breathing for continuous five minutes. And that consciousness creates a difference.
I sincerely wish that Miracle of Mind touches many more than the targeted 3 billion people. Here is the link to the app. I will love to hear your experience once you have used the app.
